Finally got a couple of good pictures. Green does not show up quite as well as it should. You get the idea, ridged rib.

I have not started Ardith's green socks, yet. Might do that on Sunday afternoon during the Hall of Fame Induction. Football season, again! I love the bouncing pigskins. Go Chiefs!

I was so busy at work today, so I didn't get a chance to call Schoolhouse Press to ask yarn questions and order J&S for GLMC. I will probably stash this yarn and pattern and knit the 'red' sweater for my granddaughter first.

A great big thank you to DJs FiberCrafts in Florence, CO. The yarn I needed to complete my sweater arrived today! I'm binding off on the front at the armholes, so it won't be long until I will be casting on for the sleeves. I'm so happy and ready to wear my sweater.

Getting close to making a decision on the Giant Latvian Mitten Cardigan. Might choose one blue and one light grey. Don't think I want to use three colors, if I did, I would use a darker blue for the bottom bands. Thanks, Lisa, for posting your progress.

Not Enough Hours In a Day

I need more time to KNIT! I have knit a few rows on RGC and my needed extra yarn is on it's way. I'm so happy about that. I did not start the green socks, either.

It takes a long time to read my favorite blogs. I'm trying to tweak my site, too.

Like I said, I need more time each day.

Gonna try to knit a few rows before bed.

Contemplating...

Still trying to determine what colors for my Giant Latvian Mitten Cardigan.

Either no one is reading my blog and/or no one cares or cares to comment. Big question... how to get the message out about my blog. TypePad is going public very soon. Maybe that will help and I can join some webrings.

Meantime, I am still knitting on RGC. I don't like the color representation in this picture. It's way too light and washed out. I am not using a flash.

I bought some green yarn for birthday socks for Ardith. Hope she likes the color I chose.

Stash Search

No pictures, and I even made some progress. I am 2/3 the way to the armhole on RGC front. I will try to get a picture tomorrow evening before posting.

I did find some long lost stash yarn. Misplaced but not forgotten. I have started a shawl for my lunch project at work then couldn't find the remaining balls of yarn. What a hassel. I looked and looked and still could not find it. I would ponder and try to remember where I last saw the yarn. I finally found it this weekend. So, it's in my bag for work...

Another stash related item: I have no 2 ply jumper weight yarn! I need some! I looked at my color cards and on the internet. That's the easy part, I must make a decision. My new pattern came this week for Giant Latvian Mitten Cardigan. Thanks Lisa for the inspiration. What colors to choose? What colors to choose? Hmmmmm.... I'm leaning toward blues and grey. The darker blues are calling me and dark heather greys. Two colors or three? I think I will take my time with this choice. Any ideas?

Chugging Along

Hardly any progress on my sweater tonight. We spent time with our granddaughter, she's six and a bundle of fire. Forgot to take my camera, so no new shots. This one was taken after Easter, she's wearing the sweater I made her. I'm using the same stitch pattern in mine, minus the stripes. She wants a red sweater, I think I'll make a garter stitch jacket with large buttons. Don't boo me, I think it will make a nice looking coat to wear to school and I don't knit much garter. Sorry this picture is fuzzy, I was having problems with the focus.

Good News

I have about 8 more rows knitted above the cast on and two done last night. And, I heard from the yarn shop, they have a partial skein of the same dyelot. Great!! Progress picture, short row neck and shoulders and the beginning rows of the front (on the right side).

My Dale book 109 came today along with a Tiur color card. I can't decide what to make. Frogner is beautiful, Wendy's choice of colors is striking. I don't do olive, though. The design that sold me on the book is #3 with black background. Pullover or cardigan? Buy yarn now or wait? What size? Are the colors printed in the book pretty true? I don't have a Daletta color card. So many questions.

Guess I need to take an inventory of WIP and UFO, stash and 'patterns I want to knit' list. First things, first.

Here's the view from my deck. The weather was so nice tonight, we sat and talked and I knit a while.

Back's Done

...started on the front of RGC. I have a 'small' ball of yarn left, so I did not start the sleeve. Thought I would wait until I find out about the additional yarn. I have cast on and done 2 rows!

Our son was here for dinner, laundry and computing. I always enjoy the evening with him and his girlfriend. They are fun and laugh a lot. So.. no picture tonight. I will try to post a picture tomorrow.

Almost...

Long day at work, not much knitting at lunch and busy night at home. I have gotten a few rows knitted and took this picture. I was hoping to get the back done. I will start the front as soon as I have completed the back. As you can see, there is not much yarn left on this ball. Maybe the yarn shop will answer my email about additional yarn availability. Probably have to call them tomorrow. If I have to, I will get some matching solid, but it would be nice to have the same yarn. The picture was taken outside with no flash and the colors are not true. There is too much blue, why? What adjustments do I need to make?

Carol's excited and happy about her new socks. I so enjoyed knitting them for her. We waited too long to take a picture in the daylight, so there is a flash shadow at the toe. Sorry.

Still knitting on the back of RGC. It's coming along nicely. Maybe I can get a pic tomorrow.

It's been a fun weekend, busy and normal.
