New Month

Thanksgiving holiday was good to me. I completed knitting on my husband's Norge 2002. Needed to get home to use the sewing machine to sew and assemble the sweater.

Other Completed Projects

I knit four neckscarves from the handspun yarn I bought in September. Two, I can show you, two are gifts. I also knit another scarf for a gift.

Have a good day... back to work for me.

Pre-Holiday

Looking forward to our holiday weekend.... I didn't do much knitting today. I'll be away from my computer this weekend. See you Monday.

Have a nice holday.

Sleeve #2

I cast on the second sleeve and got the rib knit plus about 4 inches. Here's pics of the first sleeve.

Charting Patterns

I've mentioned before about charting my two-color charts. I find plotting the pattern helps me to learn the sequence of stitches. For me, Excel worksheets do the trick. Change the column width to 2 and turn on cell borders. You can use color or symbols or a combination. Some examples:

Quiet Weekend

I really enjoyed my weekend off work. My husband and I went to see a movie and did a little shopping. We visited our granddaughter. I gave her the hat I knit last spring. She's such a delight. Wanna see??

This hat is Falling Leaves from Nancy's Knit Knacks. I was able to make two hats from one kit. The other one I gave to a friend at work. They are colorful and soft.

Update: one sleeve complete. I will cast on for the second sleeve tomorrow. I'll try to get a picture in the daylight tomorrow.

What am I going to knit on my four-day Thanksgiving weekend??? I need to finish our niece's socks and the Christmas gift. I might start over on the RED sweater for our granddaughter. OR, I might give in and begin Kashmir...

Body Done

WOW! The Norge 2002 body with custom colors is complete. I'm so glad I figured how to do the three-color rows. Now I get to cast on for the sleeves. This will be a great project for next week during the holiday.

Have a good Friday and and wonderful weekend.

Pure Diamonds

Finally, with no advice from the knitblogging public, I ripped a few rows and reknit the diamonds. I held the purple and green on the left and the blue on the right. The green was actually in the center, but held and knit with the left hand. Doesn't this look better?

I'm looking forward to beginning the sleeves...

Problem

OK, I have a serious question... on the shoulder of Norge 2002 there are three-color rows. I am having difficulty making the rows knit evenly and the diamond shapes be 'square'. See the four purple stitches surrounding the green stitch. The are not in a diamond form. How should I knit the stitches? Do you have any ideas?

I'm Back

I'm glad I chose not to post last week. Thanks for sticking with me. My work project should be finalized within the next two days.

Dale Progress

I did not knit much last week, but when I did, I worked on my husband's Norge 2002 sweater. I completed more than half the yoke pattern. This pattern has been an enjoyable one to knit. Soon I will get to choose how to handle the neck shaping. Do I steek it; bind off and knit one side at a time; or knit away, machine stitch the shape and trim?? Comments and advice is welcome.

I hope to knit and post more this week. Have a good day.

Not Much Time to Knit

I'm sorry, I have not knit much this week or taken any pictures of my knitting progress. I may not post much in the next few days... work is getting in the way of knitting and blogging. Please don't forget me, I'll be back.

Have a good day.

He's boasting..

'Now that you've gotten more of my sweater knit, the colors are more visible..' That's what he just said to me when I was showing my husband my knitting progress tonight on his Norge 2002. 'I told you those colors would be fine.' We've been discussing his choices, I think they are too close in value. I do have to admit that they are more visible now. The little 'one stitches' (lice) on the body are light grey on the blue background and are definitely showing up.

Here's the colors he chose..

I've been wishing for a vacation.... so, thinking back on the last one, I decided to re-post some pictures of our last one in Colorado.
