Ran Out of Time
Knitted a lot this weekend. I'm glad it was a long one, there were too many errands to run and not enough dedicated knitting time. Today I KNIT and only one errand. We went the cemetery to see all the Veteran's Flags. One is flown for every veteran buried there. I forgot my camera, silly me. It is an awesome site to see all the flags; I always get a lump in my throat.
The assembly is complete on the first Gjende, the wine and very dark navy one. I have to knit about 6 more rows on the neck facing, fold and sew it in place. The body hem also needs sewing. I tried to get it done today. The sky and clouds would have made a nice backdrop for a picture. I promise a picture soon.
Green Gjende for my son is all but knitted. Three rows remain of the color work at the shoulder, assembly, hemming and neck knitting.
SIP
I completed one sock for my friend's daughter and will be turning the heel of the second one at lunch break Tuesday.
Weaving Ends
Thanks to Nanette for posting about weaving ends. I have never tried the duplicate stitch weaving she describes. It was a wonderful way to weave ends on Gjende. I'm hooked! I don't relish finishing items with lots of weaving; I didn't think I did a very good job. Now I'm proud of the finishing I have done on Gjende. I am really looking forward to finishing my St. Moritz and Green Gjende. I have a little Baby Norgi to complete also.
Did you have a good weekend? Short week ahead.
