Seven More

Seven rows plus sleeve facing to knit... then I cast on for the second sleeve.

I'm beginning to contemplate my next project. I have several projects on the back burner, some finishing to complete, green sweater and Southwest shawl to block. Always, I have socks to work on... Maybe I should organize my stash. I don't think I lack anything to do, just have to make decisions.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. Chiefs play on Monday night this week. There will be lots of other football on Sunday afternoon. Might even get a chance to catch a couple college games on Saturday. Lots of knitting in my future, I think.

Thursday's here! Have a good day.

Pay Attention!

From Thursday until noon Monday my head has been in the clouds. What's up with that?? I cannot get it together. I started the first sleeve and made good headway. Then I realized I had not changed to larger needles after completing the cuff. Yuck! I ripped several inches. Then at lunch on Monday, I realized I had knit too far and not changed patterns! My, oh my! So I ripped again and started the pattern and then began the largest pattern band.

At this point, I should have two sleeves completed!

Pay attention, new motto for me until next time. Have a good day.

One Third

The first sleeve increases are one-third complete. I confess there was very little knitting time on Thursday. Maybe more knitting Friday.

We are going fishing this weekend. I intend to knit all day, every day, of course! All our meals will be provided, except two. They will be easy ones -- cereal for breakfast and PBJ for lunch.

Have a good Friday and a peaceful weekend.

Beginning Sleeve One

Here's my progress on the first sleeve. The four inch hem and the first pattern chart are completed. I increased from 50 to 71 stitches to begin the main pattern. Sleeves are so much faster than knitting the long body with no shaping of a Dale of Norway Sweater.

Sam the Ram

Just received my patterns for Sam and Sue. I look forward to knitting these challenging items. I need to order yarn, I don't think I have enough in my stash! Check out the patterns here.

Have a good second half of the week.

Body Done

The Dale of Norway sweater body knitting is done. I will hold off binding the shoulders until I can prepare it for sleeves.

I cast on for the first sleeve next. Pictures, soon.

Have a good day.

Productive Week

My work project is progressing pretty well.

My knitting project is even better. I am beginning the neck shaping and soon we cast on for the first sleeve.

I'm enjoying this pattern, the dark colors appeal to me. I am changing the neck from a split opening to a regular crew neck.

A Fun Evening

I visited my LYS last Thursday evening to knit with a very diverse group. What a good time. I thought I'd stay for a while and then leave. I didn't leave early, stayed til the end and enjoyed visiting with the ladies.

Hope all have a good week.

New Sweater

Finally took a picture of my latest project in progress. It's the Dale of Norway from 104 #8. I have knit 13" above the 4-inch hem. I love the rythym of two-color knitting.

Blog Visits

I did spend some time this weekend browsing through the blogs on my list and visiting a few new ones, too.

And, 'Tis the Season for Football! Chiefs did not win against the Broncos, but it was an exciting game.

A New Post!

Apology First

I have neglected my blog and some of my knitting.

Reasons

Very busy with multiple tasks.

1. Aggressive deadline at work (impossible if you ask me -- no one listened to me)

2. Positioning our lives for the near future

3. Overwhelmed with #1 and #2, not enough knitting time to relax.

OK, with all that said, I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while. I promise things will get better here and more relaxed soon. I have been reading my blogs, the favorites first, then as time allows, the others.

I have begun a new knitting project, the yarn was ordered and has arrived. It is a Dale of Norway of course, from Dale Design 104 no.8 in the dark navy and dark blue with white colorway. Wonderful, wonderful. I'm back to two-color knitting again, my favorite!

Leslie's pink tank is still commuting with me, but being neglected. I received a request for two pairs of heavy socks to be worn with fishing waders. Haven't decided if I will have time to do these socks or what wool yarn to choose. Decisions, decisions...

Not a minute to spare to take pictures.

Have a good week ending and weekend.
