Happy New Year!

Is it really here?  This will be a special year for me.  Stay tuned..

We celebrated Christmas with our friend, Carol, today.  I bought Regia sock yarn on Christmas eve and completed these sock Tuesday, December 28.  And I worked Monday and Tuesday, too.  That's the quickest pair of socks I have knit from sock yarn (8 spi).  She was extremely happy with RED socks.

I used my regular plain toe-up two-at-a-time two-circ sock pattern.  It is compiled effort from several sources and methods.

I enjoy making socks.  Most times, I knit plain stockinette socks letting the color patterning sock yarns set the tone of the sock.  Since these were solid color, I chose to knit a textured pair for my friend.

During my visit to my LYS on Christmas Eve and again Thursday, I purchased more sock yarn!!!  I need to inventory my sock yarn stash.

Currently, I am knitting a pair of knee-hi socks for my sister.

Hope all your New Year's celebrations are safe and fun.  Right now, my husband is asleep in his chair, I am finishing this post and plan to get back to my knitting.  Happy New Year!

One Down, Three to Go.

Today I accomplished more at work than I expected. I'm still racing the clock to complete my project. There are only three more working days this year! Can you believe it?

I started a special gift project Friday evening and it will probably be completed by tomorrow evening. I've spent December working on little projects and the found objects residing in the knitting nest around my chair. Slowly, I'm getting things organized. There is a new project waiting in the stash, I must swatch and chart the pattern before I can begin. I can hardly wait...

Our weather is forecast to be warmer this week with some rain possible. We need some moisture, but I'd rather have snow.

Have a good Tuesday.

Back to Work

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Christmas.

Dinner out in our favorite place, shopping in the sub-zero wind chill, dinner with church friends on Christmas day and quiet hours knitting and watching football on TV.

On Christmas eve day, we visited our local LYS to give my friends a Christmas Hug. They tempted me with some 'new' yarn they were unpacking... of course I bought enough for three pairs of socks!

Today, we visited our granddaughter. I made her a Booga Bag from Noro in blues. She was very happy to unpack her bag I had filled with goodies. We played games and had a wonderful time with her. Sorry, I didn't take pictures.

It's back to work, it will be a very busy week for me. Wishing you a good week with lots of knitting.

One to Show

I have been knitting, not all for public sharing. I purchased the Black Watch Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock yarn in mid-November. Just finished my socks tonight. The skeins looked identical with the same dye lot. They look so different after knitting. I have the same problem with Opal sock yarn.

Snow Picture

My husband took this picture last month during a 9" snowfall. I would like to have more snow. . . maybe next month. Snow is not forecast for the rest of December in Kansas City.

Busy December

Oh, such a busy month... and it's the 12th already! Yes, I have been knitting gifts for holiday giving. They need to be posted by Tuesday or Wednesday. No, there are no pictures; sorry.

I have terrible work project deadlines for the rest of the year. Soon it will be over. I promise to turn a new leaf in January and post more regularly.

Hope all have a good holiday season with your families.

Short Post

Just to let you know I'm alive and knitting. Work has been over-taxing and stressful. I have knit and read blogs in the evening. I will have pictures and a more news worthy post later.

Unit I post again, have a good day.
