Another Blocked Shawl

I ordered Three-Cornered & Long Shawls (scroll down) from Schoolhouse Press.  (Their redesigned website is wonderful!)  This book has been on my 'want list' for a while now.  I am quite pleased with the patterns.  And, I could not wait to cast on.

This is Hyrna Herborgar Shawl knit with Plain & Fancy Sheep & Wool Co lace yarn in dark plum.

When it is dry, I will try to get a picture of it for you.

Wash Day

Along with Monday being our trash/recycle pick-up day, it's sock wash day at our house.  I was hoping for some sun to help heat the room and dry the socks.  No sun or snow, yet, but lots of wind.  I've heard some ice pinging against the east window in my office.

There are 30 pair of socks drying on the living room floor.

Taxes are done.

Blocked my alpaca Spanish Leaf Lace Shawl.  Scroll down to see the lone male alpaca picture.  Pictures of the shawl to come later.

Glacier Teal in the Sun

I love the color of this yarn.  Mountain Colors Bearfoot in Glacier Teal colorway is beautiful.  I just completed these socks and since the sun was shining, thought I'd better get a picture while the getting was good and share it with you.

Some Sock FOs and a FBS Shawl

OK, Lisa, this is especially for you.  There is not much natural light today.  It's raining and generally gray; one of my very favorite kind of days.  Not too good for FO pictures, however.

Patch_antik

These are for my husband, Regia Patch Antik in beige, color # 5753.  The yarn has a nice texture.  Yarn was purchased last month during the 'Big Yarn Buy!'

Mountain_tango

Mountain Colors Bearfoot yarn in Mountain Tango colorway.  How many socks can we knit from Bearfoot?  I love the feel of these socks and they are for my husband.  He picked this yarn in 2004.  I completed them when I got home Tuesday evening.  The color is not true.

Flower Basket Shawl

I blocked the shawl last afternoon then left the house for a meeting.  When I returned, I knit on my newest WIP socks and kept looking at the shawl drying on the living room floor.  Do you like the arty shot?  The pins remind me of a fence row of color-topped trees, or a line of telephone poles on the highway.  Too much driving across Kansas recently?  FBS is for the Aunt-of-the-Bride's wedding later this month.

Back to knitting.

Home Again

I got home from Colorado last evening.  My husband and I celebrated with a nice steak dinner.  It's nice to sleep in your own bed!

Mom is doing well and we had a very good visit.  My sister was busy with business duties, it was good timing for my visit.  It was good to see my brother, too.  He's the baby of the family and a big tease!!!

Another highlight of my trip was my almost two-day visit with Cathy and her husband.  I can't forget to mention her animal herd.  Her new dog is the greatest!  Riley is the cutest Sheltie I have ever seen.  He's still a puppy, but he behaves!  All her cats came to visit me and let me pet them, last time I visited only Guppy was my friend.  I miss my cats and dogs.  Thanks for letting me visit your pets, Cathy.

The Best for Last

I visited Bliss Ranch!  What wonderful animals.  I walked with the female alpacas and took some nice pictures.  Her Merinos were more skittish and I couldn't get close enough to take any pictures.

Spanish_pleasure_profile

I bought some lace weight yarn from this fella, Spanish Pleasure.

It's good to be home and I'm glad I got to visit family and friends on my trip.  Now for some serious knitting. . .

Snow

Beautiful snow shower this morning out mom's back door.  It began melting about as soon as it hit the ground.  We didn't get much accumulation.

Knitting

I've been knitting on socks, finished the FBS for Leslie's step-mom, and completed the sleeves for my brother.

I'll be leaving for a short visit with Cathy and then home next week.

What are you knitting?
