New Sock

Can you believe, another pair of socks!

Trekking_pro_natura

I found this new yarn in its shipping sack at my LYS and had to wait for the yarns to be entered into inventory.  Trekking pro natura, 75% wool, 25% bamboo; color 1601.  There is a green ball waiting for me tonight, hopefully it is not sold.

This picture shows the color more correctly.  Sock knitting is SOOOOOO addictive!

My sewing machine is now working, I stitched the steeks for my Giant Latvian Mitten Cardigan.  I will be doing the 3-needle bind off on the shoulders and picking up stitches for the first sleeve at Knit Night tonight.

Socks

Regia Bamboo #1060 socks, this time I like the yarn better.  The twisted overlay thread is not as prominent and the socks are softer.  It was easier to knit than before.  I like the others but would not knit with that yarn again.  My husband likes his pair, however, he did not knit them.  I am gifting these socks, we'll see how my friend likes them.

Another Pair for Me

Regia_antik

Regia Patch Antik with my pattern US1 addis.  This yarn seems a little 'scratchier' than the two pair of Antik I knit for my husband.

Mom's Shrug

Tonight at our knitting gathering, I asked a friend of similar stature to mom to model her shrug before I send it to Colorado.  Looks like the correct size.

Moms_shrug

I loved knitting this shrug for mom.  The alpaca lace yarn is really soft and surprisingly warm for such a light wrap.  My friend was impressed with the warmth.  In the previous post I have the noted the pattern.  It is on page 12 of Gathering of Lace by Meg Swansen

Cold Temps

Our weather has been cold.  Next week, the forecast is for mid 50's.  Everything will be muddy and wet and the streets will be really sloppy.  What joy!  I love the cold weather and being able to wear my heavy sweaters.  However, the warmer temps will be a nice change.

Gifted Knitting

Knitting gifts is important to me.  I love think about, ponder and pray for the person I am knitting for.

A group of past co-workers and I celebrated a special birthday last Saturday.  I knitted my friend a special scarf from stash alpaca.

Alpaca_scarf

On Sunday, I gifted these pink handpaint socks.  I love sharing knitted gifts.

More Gifts

I am blocking the Shrug from Meg's Gathering of Lace page 12.  I used Misti Alpaca Lace yarn in cream for my mom.  Pictures later.

It is sock laundry day... then more knitting.

More Socks

Lime_lace_socks Lime_lace_close

Lime Lace Socks for the granddaughter.  She picked out the yarn, it's acrylic.  I cannot find the ball band.  Soft and Lime were her requirements.  I used Sock Bug's Lacy Scallops Socks Pattern with a couple of modifications.  This yarn gauge was less stitches per inch, I used 60 sts to begin the cuff, reduced to 55.  I used my regular heel on 28 sts and 56 for the foot.

Man Socks

Woolly_fish_socks

More Woolly Fishing Socks for my husband.  I found some Mountain Colors Weaver's Wool Quarters in Northwind colorway.  The wool is a lighter weight than I usually knit for fishing socks.  Bought 200g yarn, about 2.7oz remains.  My pattern with modifications for big knee high and kitchener bind off.

More socks in the works. . .
