Talk about using every bit of yarn for a project...
Starry Aeolian
While knitting faster trying to beat the end of the ball, I ran out of yarn at the last few stitches of bind off. Oh, now what shall I do? I had no more yarn, and nothing that would blend well enough to use. Hmmmm ... the yarn tail at cast on was only 3" long. Dropped the ball yarn picked the cast on tail and continued with bind off. Two stitches with not enough yarn to finish. So Itinked back to the dropped tiny end, felted the two ends yarn together about 1/4" long. Just enough yarn to bind off the final stitches, that was too close for comfort.
This was the first time I knit with Dream In Color Starry. It has more silver sparkle than other yarns I have seen. Aeolian Shawl pattern is found on Knitty.
Bitterroot Shawl
Started Saturday evening and completed the blocking this morning. Loved this pattern when I first saw it, wanted to make it right away.
I dug out one of may favorite lace yarns, Jaggerspun Zephyr, and knit Bitterroot. Can you see the clear, silver lined beads? They really shine in the sunlight.
Off to knit another little lace thing....
Gaaaah! I would have had a heart attack over that.
Both shawls are gorgeous - Bitterroot must look like freshly fallen snow in the sunlight.

Too close for comfort! Great fix.
[You definitely don't need to reformat *your* brain. Love Bitterrot with the s/l beads.] --Syl

Both shawls are beautiful! I love the beads. Have never knit with any, since I can't get my hands on nice ones. Where do you get your beads?
Boy that was sure a very close one! How are you going to weave in those tiny ends?

Great thinking on your part! The shawls are very nice and I can tell you enjoyed every stitch.

Wow, freshly fallen snow is JUST what that shawl DOES look like in person!
Chery, your shawls and your photos, are beautiful!

OH, I can't get over those itty bitty stubs of yarn left at both ends. You rock!

Oh my goodness! That is way, way too close for comfort. I know that knitting faster is supposed to work when you're running out of yarn, but it just doesn't seem to work that way. I, too am getting enamored of lace and beads. I'm off to look up the Bitteroot pattern.

Wow! These are gorgeous! If I only had more time or more arms and hands:)
Amazing work!

All your shawls are amazing! I'm hoping my brain will allow following complicated charts soon!

Both of those are gorgeous! That short end thing would have made me very edgy. How big is your Bitterroot? I love the white with the sparkly beads.
