I Guess I Should Post

I'm sorry I got lost from the blog.  I've been very busy, knitting up all the UFOs, or just some of them actually.  Need to have a BIG Block Party soon.

One of the two green things I can keep alive:

Prickly_pear_08

It's a shame that the flowers last only one day.  This cactus is really covered with blooms this year.

Any guesses to what big purchase I made a month ago?  (No fair commenting if you already know!)

Grapes..

I don't care for imitation grape flavors; however, this sock yarn is the yummiest!  It is Rio de la Plata Kettle Dyed 100% Merino Superwash in sock weight.  There are 437 yards three-ply yarn in one skein and it makes a nice pair of socks.

The pattern is Anne's School Sock pattern.  I normally knit my socks in stockinette and allow the yarn color to be the focus.  This pattern is a plaid or basketweave pattern that works well with this yarn, don't you think?

Anne has another new pattern, Whispering Pines Triangle Shawl.  I bought the pattern last night and already have the yarn chosen from my lace yarn stash.  I love Ms. Knitspot's patterns, she is so talented.

I still have some things in the works.  Three pair of socks on the needles, some baby items for friends' new baby, and a shawl.

I'm Glad Some"body" Likes These Socks

Jawoll_211

My husband likes these socks -- the color and stripes!  I like some of the colors, but not all.  The yarn is good, the fit is good.  I just don't care for these socks.

Don't Get Used to This

... posting two days in a row.  It is not my usual practice.

Completed these socks last night, waited and hoped for sunshine today.  There has been none, so this is the best picture I could get today.

I'm Getting Ready for Summer

I know Summer isn't here, yet.  Really, Spring hasn't sprung, either!

Summer_sock

These short, summer socks were knit with Fortissima Cotton Colori, white with pink and blue.  The finished socks weigh 42grams, there is about 56grams remaining.  I have enough to make another pair for a special little friend.  Or perhaps, share the yarn with someone else.  To ponder. . .

What are you knitting for summer?

And Another

Lang_lawoll_aktion_0201_socks

Just finished these socks for my husband.  They are Lang LaWoll Aktion 201.  He loves these colors.

Detail picture of colors.  They are pretty true.

More socks on the way, stay tuned.

And Again

I have a wonderful friend.  She has given me several different sock yarns to knit.  These are the socks I knit for myself from the last yarn she gave me.

Black_purl_llss

The yarn is Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport in Black Purl.  I used my same old pattern with an added picot hem at the top.  They are knee high, I knit them with the 2 skeins (200 yds ea) with very little yarn left over.  Can you say WARM?

Thank you D, for the yarn.

Socks Again

Socks for the guy... he picked the color.  They are so bright and beautiful.  I'd like to knit another pair of socks using the bright colored yarn with a darker background color in a two-color pattern.  Someday...

And they match!

Matching_pair_lang_jawoll

I knit these with Lang JaWoll #132.0199.  It is wonderful yarn and really a joy to knit.  I use a very loose bindoff at the cuff, that's why they look a little ruffled.  My husband will wear bright colors or even pink or orange; however, I think he'd balk at the ruffles. . .

Shock!! A Picture. . .

Finished these Trekking XXL 158 socks last evening.  Blocked them today.  AND guess what?  There was bright sunshine for pictures!

  • Yarn:  Trekking XXL color 158
  • Purchased:  On Ebay - Yarnbow
  • Pattern:  My 2Sox2Circs
  • Started:  Jan 30, 2008
  • Finished:  Feb 6, 2008
  • For:  Me!

I love Trekking sock yarn.  It makes wonderful, comfortable socks.  However, there always is a color discrepancy.  I know that they do not match most of the time, there is only one small problem this time.  The color sequence on the foot of the bottom sock has two groups of orange in a row.  Otherwise, these socks would have matched completely.

I love the colors in these socks.

Put a New Face on the Blog

Thought I'd change the look of my blog.  Do you like it?  Think it might entice me to post more often??  I hope so.  I should either put up or shut up and delete this blog.

I have no pictures to post today.  Socks and lace are all that I have knitted lately.  My husband is waiting for his new re-knit sweater.  I'm re-knitting an old sweater originally knit BC (before child).  It is a fitted ski-type sweater knit flat.  I am knitting it in the round with better yarns, this time.  More details when I get it completed.

Have a good weekend.
