Busy Knitting...

I guess I've been too busy to take pictures of completed shawls to share.  Finally took a few with a little help from my friend.

Orange Aeolian Shawl

Knitty pattern Aeolian Shawl is a joy to knit.  The yarn I used is Treasured Hand Dyed Lace Cashmere Blend from TreasureGoddess.  Christine dyed this alpaca/silk/cashmere yarn Hot Pink, then overdyed it orange.  It created a glowing beautiful yarn.  Project details on Ravelry.

Blue Aeolian

Another Aeolian made from Lacey Lamb in Glacier Blue.  The yarn was gifted to me for my birthday by two friends named 'Jo.'  My husband loves this color.  

I think I'll use a different pattern for my next shawl.  Will continue to work on WIPs and a special project or two.

When is winter coming?  We are expecting a cooler spell for for a few days, I'm tired of the HOT WEATHER! 

 

Not So Close This Time

I didn't run short or close to short on yarn this time.  I knit a new shawl for a friend from her yarn.

The pattern is Traveling Woman by Liz Abinante using Kicking It Colors Fingering Weight Sock Yarn. The colors are a nice soft olive green to natural bone.  I was not sure how the yarn would knit up, I'm pleased with this shawl.  It was fun and took very little knitting time.

More Little Shawls

A friend gave me her leftover lace yarn.  She had just completed a large shawl and gave me the remainder.  Ooooh!  I loved the color and feel. What to make?.. another little shawl.

This is my fourth Lacy Baktus.  The others were sock yarn without an edge.  I wanted to make this one special with added edging.  Wollmeise Lace-Garn using US4 needle.

What's Next?

Why another small shawl...  Couldn't wait to knit up Knit Picks Stroll Tonal in Gypsy with US3 needles.  I'd fallen in love with Percy.  The pattern and yarn paired up nicely.  I enjoyed the knitting -- ending with less than 4 inches of yarn! Again, cutting it awfully close.

 

I want to knit another Percy with lace yarn and more pattern repeats.

Past Time for an Update

This is my second Highland Triangle Shawl by Chery Oberle in Folk Shawls.  Loved knitting this pattern again.  My yarn is Elsa Wool Company Woolen Spun Laceweight Cormo.  Yummy!  Those links should keep you busy for a while.

Just Finished

Susan Rainey designed a beautiful lap robe using one of my favorite yarns.  How lucky can I be?

 

Pattern: Surrounded Afghan and Lap Robe

Yarn: Knit Picks Swish Worsted in Fire Brick

Needles: US 8 (KP Options)

This lap robe is just the right size to sit and knit and keep my feet warm.

Off to finish more ...... WIPs.

The Last Inch

Talk about using every bit of yarn for a project...

Starry Aeolian

While knitting faster trying to beat the end of the ball, I ran out of yarn at the last few stitches of bind off.  Oh, now what shall I do?  I had no more yarn, and nothing that would blend well enough to use. Hmmmm ... the yarn tail at cast on was only 3" long.  Dropped the ball yarn picked the cast on tail and continued with bind off.  Two stitches with not enough yarn to finish.  So Itinked back to the dropped tiny end, felted the two ends yarn together about 1/4" long.  Just enough yarn to bind off the final stitches, that was too close for comfort.

This was the first time I knit with Dream In Color Starry.  It has more silver sparkle than other yarns I have seen.  Aeolian Shawl pattern is found on Knitty.

Bitterroot Shawl

Started Saturday evening and completed the blocking this morning.  Loved this pattern when I first saw it, wanted to make it right away.

I dug out one of may favorite lace yarns, Jaggerspun Zephyr, and knit Bitterroot.  Can you see the clear, silver lined beads?  They really shine in the sunlight.

Off to knit another little lace thing....
